Other  locations are also included. Critical discussions relating to global warming indicators such as retreating glaciers, increased fire risks, and biodiversity impacts are included, along with ground-breaking litter, waste management, and recycling insights. Hundreds of dramatic photographs add compelling visual evidence. KEC improvement recommendations make this a must-read for all public land managers and other interested stakeholders.

  • Litter Crisis in Our National Parks – This 2016 book provides detailed litter survey results from a 2013 KEC field investigation conducted in six national parks (Rocky Mountain, Arches, Great Basin, Yosemite, Redwood, and Crater Lake), plus numerous state parks and other protected areas. Included is photographic evidence of litter in each location visited, along with comparative ranking scale findings. Specific recommendations are presented on how to effectively address this widespread problem.

  • Solving National Park Issues in the West – This 2015 book traces KEC’s first comprehensive effort to empirically document the environmental health of National Parks, including: Rocky Mountain, Arches, Great Basin, Yosemite, Redwood, and Crater Lake. Challenges such as global warming, invasive plant species, insects, and light pollution are covered. Also discussed is the quality status of environmental mediums (air, water, soil) within each park, along with the quality of park infrastructure, and political obstacles. Suggested call to action solutions are also provided.

  • 2014 - 2015 National Surveys of U.S. Municipal Recycling Programs – The 2014 report provides key findings from all 50 states relating to community recycling rates, program challenges, and how they are being addressed.
